On 28-29 November 2024, HKU Vietnam and HKU Beijing proudly hosted the successful Vietnam-China Business and Investment Opportunities Conference, marking a significant milestone in building collaborative bridges between businesses from both nations. With over 100 distinguished guests, including representatives from government agencies and leaders from prominent businesses in both Vietnam and China, the event created breakthrough opportunities to expand international networks and drive sustainable economic growth.
Notably, the presence of the Consul General of China in Vietnam, Mr. Wei Huaxiang, highlighted the strong relationship and strategic partnership between the two leading economies in the region.
Vietnam is emerging as a strategic destination for business and investment, particularly in light of the strong trade relations between the two countries. With total trade reaching 160 billion USD in 2023, Vietnam has become China’s third-largest trading partner in Southeast Asia. Over 3,500 Chinese-funded FDI projects, amounting to 36 billion USD in investment, further emphasise the growing interest of Chinese businesses in the Vietnamese market. This reinforces Vietnam’s importance in China’s regional development and cooperation strategy.
