From STEM to Marketing, Tran Ngoc Van Anh Awarded HKU Business School Optimas Capital Scholarship 2023
July 26, 2023Tran Ngoc Van Anh, a Vietnamese scholar, has been awarded the prestigious HKU Business School Optimas Capital Scholarship 2023. The Scholarship provides premier education access and financial support to top students who exhibit academic excellence, outstanding leadership skills and are committed to making a positive contribution to Vietnamese society.
Van Anh’s journey to achieving this scholarship has been remarkable, highlighted by her achievements at the University of Science, Vietnam National University. She was the Valedictorian in biotechnology during her university entrance exam in 2015. In 2019, she was selected to participate in the GKS for ASEAN country Science and Engineering Students, an international exchange program for top-performing students.
Driven by a passion of transforming business practices through innovative marketing methodologies, Van Anh's pursuit of Master of Science in Marketing will further fuel her aspirations. Van Anh's choice of Hong Kong and HKUBS stems from her recognition of the city's abundant economic opportunities and the school's esteemed business education as a leading institution in Asia and worldwide. She firmly believes that studying in Hong Kong will equip her with a global perspective and the essential skills necessary to excel in her field.
Despite having a background in biotechnology, Van Anh recently switched her career focus to marketing after discovering her passion for the field. She hopes to contribute to Vietnam's economy in the long term by assisting the young generation in achieving their dreams through experiences and financial aid.
